At present, automotive steering pump is mostly double-acting vane steering pump, which mainly consists of ordinary double-acting vane pump, flow control valve and pressure relief valve. Double action vane pump to provide high pressure oil, flow control valve to ensure that the steering pump output suitable for the requirements of the vehicle flow, pressure relief valve control steering pump maximum output pressure, for the engine power is small gasoline engine, also should be equipped with a pressure switch.


Working principle of power steering pump

After the drive wheel drives the rotor to rotate, the blade opens under the action of centrifugal force, and forms a working cavity together with the stator, rotor and oil distribution disk. When the rotor and blade rotate from the small arc area on the inner surface of the stator to the large arc area, the volume between the two blades increases, the pressure decreases, and oil is absorbed through the oil absorption mouth of the oil distribution disk. When turning from the big arc area to the small arc area, the volume between the two blades shrinks and the pressure increases. The oil is discharged through the outlet of the pressure plate, and the high-pressure oil is discharged into the steering device through the steering tubing to provide steering power.
